Obituary for Lowell Sloan

Lowell  Sloan
Lowell Sloan, 94, of Russellville, went to be with the Lord Thursday, October 27, 2011 at his home. He was born May 18, 1917 in Havana the son of S.A. and Lucy Harger Sloan. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He attended the New Beginnings Church of God.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Jewell Sloan; sister,Vida Hamilton; son-in-law, Royce Laseter; daughter, Clara Mae Scheppmann; and son, Lowell Mason Sloan, Jr.

He is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Laseter of Russellville and Connie Willis and husband Marvin of Cleveland, TN; 8 grandchildren, Carey Hilburn Jr., Rebecca Cooper, Karen Brodin, Jamie Hilburn,Marvin Willis, Pamela Bock, Kevin Willis and Darin Willis; 15 great-grandchildren, Andrea Hilburn, Olivia Hilburn, Emma Cooper, Sara Shirley, Briana Roeck, Bradley Brodin, Mya Wornick, Trent Wornick, Janessa Willis, Macy Hays, Connie Willis, Ben Bock, Molly Bock, Westin Willis and Nolan Willis; sister, Stella Sloan Forrester Able; and a nephew and two nieces, Gene Forrester, Sr., Marie Forrester Almond and Bettye Joe Smith.


Funeral services are 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 1 at Lemley Chapel with Rev. Robert O’Bryant officiating. Burial is in Pisgah Cemetery by Lemley Funeral of Atkins. Visitation is from 6:00-8:00 PM Monday at Lemley Chapel.
