Jeannie Sherrod, 59, of Atkins, died Sunday, February 21, 2010, in Conway. She was born March 6, 1950, in Yakima, Washington, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Jean Mitchell Hillstrom. She was a member of the Russellville First Free Will Baptist Church and choir. She is also preceded in death by one son, Gene Sherrod.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Sherrod of North Little Rock; two sons, David Sherrod and wife Amie of North Little Rock, and Christopher Sherrod and wife Geneva of Maumelle; two daughters, Amanda Sherrod and Sam Wheeler of Little Rock, and Florence Sherrod Keller and husband Marty of Cleburne, TX; twin sister, Jessie Sugden and husband Jim of Tonopah, AZ; sister, Karen Dallons of Long Beach, CA; brother, David Hillstrom of St. Maarten, Virgin Islands; eight grandchildren, Bradley Staggs, Meghan Sherrod, Allie Jo Sherrod, Jerry David Sherrod, Isabella Sherrod, Cooper Sherrod, Charly Ward, and Keith Ward.

Jeannie will be missed by many. She was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a very loving person that put other people first and herself second. Her main focus was living her life for God and having fun with her husband and kids. In her spare time she loved singing in the choir, shopping, riding rollercoasters and playing with her dogs. Jeannie leaves behind a multitude of people that were blessed to know her. She loved people and would want everyone to pass that loving spirit along. Jeannie Sherrod will never be forgotten by those she loved. We love you Mom.

Graveside service and burial will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, February 27, at Manila Cemetery in Manila, Arkansas. Arrangements are by Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins.
