Obituary for Helen Kruckeburg

Helen Kruckeburg
Our beloved Mother, Helen Zeller Kruckeberg of Greenville, Ohio passed away at the Atkins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Thursday, May 2, 2013. She was 100 years old.

Born Oct. 6, 1912 to Joseph Franklin Zeller & Bonnie Tucker Zeller. She was baptized Helen Lucille Zeller on April 8, 1917. After marrying Ott Kruckeberg on April 17, 1945, she became a life-long confirmed member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Greenville, OH.

Upon graduating from Greenville High School, Helen joined her Dad, Joe Zeller in his real estate agency; becoming an agent, office manager, and broker. She was active in Alpha Delta Gamma Sorority for over 60 years and enjoyed the fellowship with her sorority sisters very much. One of Helen’s great joys in life was being with people and conversing with them.

Marriage took her to the country where she became a partner in three separate farms. Not only was she a good farm hand, but a good home maker and a dear Mom. Later, she joined the office staff at Wayne Hospital where she served for 22 years, retiring in 1985 at the age of 72.

Helen had been living with her daughter and son-in-law Charlotte & Dick Buchy on their farm near Atkins, AR. since Sept. of 2008 and entered the nursing home in Jan. of 2012.

In addition to Helen’s parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ott Kruckeberg, brother, Richard Zeller and sister-in-law Lillian Zeller.

She is survived by her daughter, Charlotte (Dick) Buchy of Atkins, AR. Sons; J.P. (Margaret) Kruckeberg of American Falls, ID & Drs. John (Linda) Kruckeberg of Columbia, TN. Nine grandchildren; Joanelle Buchy of Melbourne, Australia, Paul Buchy, Julie (Barre’) Shannon all of Atkins. Jessica Kruckeberg, Virginia (Peter) Willems, Johnny Kruckeberg, and Joe Kruckeberg all of Columbia, TN. Three great-grandchildren; Aarah Shannon and Lucas Shannon of Atkins. And Zara Zaccagnini of Melbourne, Australia.

A memorial service will be held at St. John Lutheran Church, Greenville, Ohio at a later date.
Helen’s family expresses the deepest appreciation to the staff of the Atkins Nursing Center for their loving care for Helen for the last 16 months. Also to Arkansas Hospice for their invaluable service in the past week.

Memorials in her honor may be made to Bells Chapel Methodist Church 1908 W Main Atkins. AR, 72823.
