Obituary for Ernest "Doyle" Goodwin

Ernest "Doyle"  Goodwin
Ernest “Doyle” Goodwin, 79, of Atkins, died Sunday, July 31, 2012 in Russellville. He was born October 7, 1932, in Waldron, the son of the late Truman Goodwin and Oranona Richmond. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War, was a past Master Mason and current Chaplain with Atkins Lodge #172, and was an active member of the Atkins VFW.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Goodwin; 2 grandsons, Jimmy Glen Cherry, Jr. and wife Dana, and Ray Nathaniel Lynch; 1 great-granddaughter, Emmy Cherry; 2 sons, Carl Martin and Gary Goodwin; and 1 daughter, Becky McLemore.
He is survived by 4 daughters, Ellen and husband Randy Underwood, Nadine Lynch, Kay Cherry and their spouses, and Linda Stanford; 2 sons, Curtis Martin and Jerry Goodwin; 1 brother, Vester Goodwin; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 10:00 AM Saturday, August 4, 2012, at Lemley Chapel with Bro. Bill Crawley officiating. Burial with military rites by Rogers Rye Post #2283 is in Oakland Cemetery north of Atkins. Visitation is from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday.
Pallbearers are Charles Martin, Randy Martin, Bo Mills, Curtis Martin, Doug Taylor and Nolan Mills. Honorary pallbearers are Clarence Serra, Charles Simmons and Jimmy Cherry.
