Obituary for Willie D. Burks
Willie D. Burks, 80, of Russellville, passed away Friday, March 4, 2022, at St. Mary’s in Russellville. He was born June 7, 1941, in Sugartown, Louisiana, son of the late Olliver O. and Mandy Louise Gill Burks.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Arvlene Burks; daughter, Tina Burks; brother, Thel Ellis Burks; sisters, Wanda Louise Brown, Doshie Ree Miller, and Mary Lee Lloyd.
He is survived by his children, Rena Burks, Paul Burks, Terrisa and Mike Staggs, and Tonya and Bobby Coker; 2 brothers, Dwight “Shrimp” and Liz Burks, and Roland PeeWee and Rose Burks; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Graveside service and burial will be held 1:00 PM, Tuesday, March 8, in Bowden Cemetery with Rev. David Bishop officiating under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins.
Pallbearers are grandchildren, Cody Burks, Dustin Wiley, Tyler Hegeman, Trent Hegeman, Andrew Willbanks, Tanner Hegeman, Syelus Bewley, Carter Wiley and Anthony May.
