Obituary for W. Ray Staggs

W. Ray  Staggs
W. Ray Staggs, 76, of Atkins, died Friday, August 3, 2012, at the Atkins Nursing Center. He was born November 22, 1934, in Pottsville, the son of Hoitt and Vonnie Aline Keener Staggs. He was a member of the Hillcrest Pentecostal Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister, Doris Evelyn Staggs; brother-in-law, Richard L. Metheny; and nephew, Randy Staggs.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Wanda Dotson Staggs; a son, Rick R. and wife Inez Staggs of Fresno, CA; 1 daughter, Connie and husband Jesse Torrez of Conway; 1 brother, Doitt and wife Lavada Staggs of Exeter, CA; sister, Shirley Metheny of Tulare, CA; and grandchildren, Henry and Jackie Pena, Ryan and Cheree Staggs, and Brandon and Diana Torrez; and a great-grandchild, Charles Pena.
Graveside service and burial is 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 6, in Atkins City Cemetery with Rev. Bob Branch and Rev. Donald Shipley officiating. Visitation is from 6:00-8:00 PM Monday at Lemley Chapel.
