Obituary for Steve Brucks

Steve Brucks, 76, of Bigelow, passed away Saturday, July 1, 2023, at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett. He was born January 20, 1947, in Little Rock, son of the late Steve R. and Othella M. Wilson Brucks. Steve was a one of a kind man. He was very smart when it came to locomotives, and had many hobbies like rebuilding antique tractors, collecting rare guns and rebuilding them too. He retired from Missouri Pacific/Union Pacific Railroad after 41 years. He loved his family, especially his daughter, grandkids, and great -grandchildren and friends very much. His daughter Christie learned how to cook from him so many different things but always told her that his was always the best. He was very devoted to his family and worked so hard for his kids and taught them so many things. He was a devoted Catholic and always was helping people. He was the kindest man. He will be really missed by all of those who he touched in their lives.


He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy Conville Brucks; and a son, Anthony Brucks.
He is survived by a daughter, Christie and Jody Edwards; granddaughter, Alysa Brucks and Cory; 2 grandsons, Guy and Jennilee Cason, and David and Allyson Carter; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral mass is 1:00 PM, Thursday, July 6, at St. Edward Catholic Church Little Rock with Msgr. Jack Harris officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Burial is in Atkins Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins.

Pallbearers are Jody Edwards, Cory McLaughlin, Guy Cason, and Kevin Whitt.
