Sam Hayes Jamell, Sr., 82, of Russellville, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2019, at the Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home in Russellville. He was born April 21, 1936, in Russellville, son of the late Ollie Madane and Jewell Louise Haney Jamell. He was of the Assembly of God faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Jeremy Chenowith; brothers, James Jamell, Joe Jamell, and Ollie Jamell; and a sister, Juanita Battles.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Jean Crowe Jamell; son, Sam Jamell, Jr. and wife Michelle; daughter, Sherry Diane and husband Larry Sutton; 3 grandchildren, Sam Jamell III and wife Shannon, Leslie and husband Tim Jenkins, and Jessica and husband Mark Homan; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, James Battles.
Graveside service and burial is 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 14, at North New Hope Cemetery with Rev. Norman Chenowith officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins.
Pallbearers are Bryce Metz, Landyn Jamell, Alex Chenowith, Mark Homan, Eric Fryar, Josh Fryar, Matthew Fryar, and Sam Jamell III.
