Obituary for Rev. Randell R. Williams

Reverend Randell Ray Williams, 81, of Appleton, Arkansas, passed away peacefully Sunday May 29th, 2022, in the presence of his family. He was born December 14th, 1940, in Welcome Home, Arkansas.

He was an ordained minister, preacher, and Pastor for over fifty-three years. He is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving as a Staff Sergeant for twelve years that included a tour in Vietnam, Germany, and a deployment in Taiwan. He worked for the U.S. Postal service as a Letter Carrier, and a Postmaster until he retired. He worked for the Pope County Sheriff’s office as both a Bailiff and a Chaplain for several years. He served on the board of Walnut Grove cemetery, and was also a First Responder for many years.

He was preceded in death by his Parents; Roy And Chloie (Condley) Williams, two Brothers; one infant and Roger Williams, and one Sister Bertha Reeves.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years; Mary Jo (Melton) Williams, his daughter Maria Deniece Hammons, his son; Anthony and his wife Susan Williams, five granddaughters; Kristan Williams, Skylar and husband Jamie Stover, Cassie Hammons, Carissa Hammons, and Savannah and her husband Brighton Youmans; three grandsons; Jacob Lagrone, Christopher Hammons, and Randell Luke Williams; three great grandchildren; Izsabelle, Riley, and Jack Stover; three sisters, Edith LeGrand, Mae McKay, Mary Jo Williams; one brother, David Williams; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all the caregivers who provided care and support for Randell over the past few years.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, May 31, at Lemley Chapel.

Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 1, at Lemley Chapel with Rev. David Bishop and Rev. Stephen Taylor officiating. Burial will be held in Appleton Cemetery under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins.

Pallbearers are Kristan Williams, Skylar Stover, Jamie Stover, Jacob Lagrone, Savannah Williams Youmans, Luke Williams, Cassandra Hammons, Carissa Hammons, and Christopher Hammons.
