Murl Dean Clay, 88, of Atkins, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2021, at St. Vincent in Little Rock. He was born September 10, 1932, at Stahl in Putnam County, Missouri, son of the late Joseph Albert and Leona Wiles Clay.
Murl married Bonita Copeland Clay on June 28th, 1986, in Ottumwa, Iowa. Murl loved to camp and was a farmer most of his life in Missouri and Iowa before retiring and moving to Arkansas in 2000. He was a loving husband, dad, and grandpa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Melvin and Eldon Clay; 4 sisters, Velma Scobee, Irene Salter, Edna Lay, and Neva Young; and a step-son, Kenneth Anderson.
He is survived by his wife, Bonita Clay; 2 daughters, Carolyn and husband Steven Albertson, and Linda and husband Michael Sandstrom; son, Randy Dean Clay; step-daughter, Debbie Tippett; 2 step-sons, Tony Anderson and wife Tammy, and Todd Anderson and Donna; sister, Bernice Lloyd; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Funeral services are 3:00 PM, Thursday, March 18, at Lemley Chapel with Bro. Mark Simmons officiating. Burial is in Atkins City Cemetery under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
