Obituary for Mike Virden
Michael Lee Virden, 64, of Atkins, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center. He was born August 9, 1957, in Russellville, son of the late J.D. and Virginia Lee Davis Virden.
Mike was an employee of Napa Auto Parts for over 35 years and was now employed with the Pope County Road Dept. in Russellville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Davis Virden; and niece, Jennifer Virden Holley.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Walker Virden; son, Jonathan Lee Virden and wife Becky; daughter, Jessica Virden Hickman and husband Dillon; bonus children, Justin and Amanda Eakin, and Terra and Jeremy Wilmoth; grandchildren, Jace Deacon Virden, Sadie Griggs, Tristan Hickman and soon to arrive Rylee Lavel Hickman, Kaden Eakin, Addy Wimoth, Ashton Eakin, Rustyn Eakin, Canaan Eakin; brother, Billy Lane Virden and wife Cornelia; niece, Ginny Lou Virden; sister-in-law, Judy Virden McNutt; niece, Lesley Virden Payne; great-nieces, Brooke and Katy Payne; nephew, Clarence Holley; great-nephew, Kobe Holley; and mother-in-law, Donna Walker.
Graveside service and burial will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 2, at St. Joe Cemetery with Rev. David Downum officiating under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday, at Lemley Chapel.
Pallbearers are Dallas Dedmon, Paul David Duvall, Roger Gardner, Tim Whittenburg, Jackie Heflin, and Brent Payne.
Honorary pallbearers are employees of the Pope County Road Department, and Raymond Staggs.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in his honor may be made to the St. Joe Cemetery fund.
