Mike Higgins, 59, formerly of Atkins, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2019, at his home in Tomball, Texas. He was born August 16, 1959, in Morrilton, son of the late Johnny and Dana Staggs Higgins. He was a member of Union Grove Free Will Baptist Church, a 1977 graduate of Atkins High School and a 1998 graduate of Arkansas Tech University. He was known for his big heart and his laugh.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, James Brewer; sister-in-law, Cheryl Higgins; and brother-in-law, Lloyd Salathe.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Paula Higgins; son, Josh Higgins and wife Beth; daughter, Kayla and husband Gareth Young; granddaughters and lights of his life, Emma and Eva Young; brothers, Danny Higgins, and Doug Higgins and wife Cyndi; sisters, Vickie and husband Walter Bond, and LaDonna and husband Stanley Floyd; mother-in-law, Betty Brewer; sister-in-law, Rita Salathe; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services are 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 17, at Union Grove Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. Scott Warren officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests acts of kindness or donations to church or charity in his honor.
