Martha Phyllis Beckman, 71, of Atkins died Thursday, April 22, 2010 at her home after a long battle with cancer. Martha Phyllis McDaniel was born December 19, 1938 in Nevada, Iowa was the daughter of Gordon Forrest and Phyllis Guge McDaniel and was preceded in death by her parents and a sister-in-law. She retired from 3M Company of Ames, Iowa. She loved gardening, animals, the outdoors and watching the Steelers Football.

She is survived by her 3 sons; Doug (Ellen) Beckman of Mitchellville, IA. Dennis Beckman of Boone, IA., and Troy Beckman of Atkins, AR.; her dachshund, Sassy; former husband and lifelong friend, Ty Beckman of Ogden, IA.; brother, Gordon McDaniel of Draper, UT.; 5 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; 1 nephew and 1 niece.

Memorial service will be announced at a later date

In lieu of flowers memorials may be left to the Humane Society.
