Obituary for Johnny Vaughn

Johnny Lee Vaughn, 71, of Russellville passed away December 26th at his home surrounded by his family. He was born February 20, 1949 in Hector, Arkansas at his grandparent’s house, (Ben and Nora Gray). He was the son of John C. and Avanell Gray Vaughn.
He was a 1969 Graduate of Russellville High School and was involved in athletics and was the equipment manager for the RHS football, basketball and track teams and he did an excellent job. He worked for the Arkansas Highway Department for 13 years before retiring. Prior to becoming too ill to do outside activities, he loved to hunt and fish and to do yard work.
Johnny was a friend to everyone and he loved to have a good time with family and friends. He always had a big smile and laugh. That will be missed by all who knew him.
He was proceeded in death by his parents and his brother, Larry G. Vaughn.
He is survived by his sister, Rita Kay Ridling (Bob) of Morrilton; brother, Jerry D. Vaughn (Susie) of Dover; Sister-in-law, Liz Vaughn; nephews, Charlie Bewley and great-niece, Audrey Bewley; Jason Vaughn and great nephew, Grayson Vaughn, and Jordan Vaughn and niece, Bobby Ray Ridling and great niece, Sophia Riddling; and special aunt, Jeanie Vaughn McPeters; and a host of cousins and friends.
Honorary pallbears are: Charlie Bewley, Jason Vaughn, Jordan Vaughn, Grayson Vaughn, Wayne Wright, Dick Lee, Tommy Lewis, Craig Williams, Charlie Goodman, Dan Lovelady, Grant Vaughn, Steve Packard and Rex Tyler.
The Vaughn family would like to express their gratitude for the special loving care and friendship of his caregivers; Charlotte, Joy, April, Charlene, Julie and the Kindred Care and Kindred Hospice nurses.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 31 at Lemley Funeral Chapel located at 1401 N. Church Street, Atkins, Arkansas
The family will visit with friends following the service.
