Obituary for Jerry Graves

Jerry Don Graves, 79, of Atkins, Arkansas passed away December 26, 2021 at St. Vincent Infirmary in North Little Rock, AR. His wife, daughters, and Pastor Scott Warren were at his side.

Jerry was born July 4, 1942 to Herman and Leola (Duvall) Graves. He graduated from Atkins High School and continued his education at UCA (formerly Arkansas Teachers College) in Conway, AR and Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, AR.

Jerry loved sports, especially baseball, football and golf and was a die-hard Boston Red Sox fan. He was a lifelong Red Devil and was honored to be selected for the Atkins Athletic Hall of Fame and served on the Atkins School Board. He loved to travel and he and his wife had many great vacations with his favorite being a trip to Boston to be at Fenway Park in person. Most important to him was his family. Later in life he especially enjoyed his grand and great grandchildren!

He is survived by his wife of 56 years Brenda, his daughters Ashley (Tom) Bouzek, Kristin (Paul) Burris, granddaughters Amber (Dustin) Kochen, Andrea (Jed) Perkins, Tess (Mitchell) Casto, great grandchildren Hayden, Ailee and Hazel Perkins, sister Ann Martin and many other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, December 31, 2021 at Union Grove Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Scott Warren officiating under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services.

Honorary Pallbearers are Garry Coffman, Terry Ewell, Bill Staed, Gerald Johnston and Donnie Crabtree.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his honor may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or to Union Grove Free Will Baptist Youth.
