Obituary for James "Willis" Turney
James “Willis” Turney, 72, of Jerusalem, passed away Friday, April 5, 2019 at his home. He was born October 15, 1946, in Hector, the son of the late Neal and Lucy Duvall Turney. He was a true mountain man with a passion for turkey hunting. He loved God’s country and his word was gold.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jimmy Neal Turney.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Wanda Turney; 2 sons, Travis Turney of Hattieville and Brian Turney of Jerusalem; sister, Patsy and husband Ira Freeman of Atkins; 2 brothers, David Turney and wife Debbie, and Mickey Turney, all of Hector; 4 grandchildren, Zadie, Lillie, and Kane Turney, and Mikayla Tackett; 1 great-grandchild, Kate Tackett; and his best friend, Chuck Stroud.
