I have so many happy memories of Uncle Jim flooding my mind. I can remember how he used to tickle me and Jim (my cousin) in the front bedroom till we cried, and he throwing us and bouncing us on the bed, with us laughing so hard. I remember the east coast trip to see he and Nan Nan and meeting Shane for the first time, and the snow, oh what snow, and snow tobagganing and walking out on the ice in the lake and watching cars drive across. He loved snow, like Daddy and I did, and most of all he loved his family, and the family gatherings we would have. Most special to me were Christmas Eve's at his house after Bo and Pop died. He carried on the tradition. Staci and I talked last night how he would love seeing all his family and friends together the past few days. Uncle Jim, you were one of a kind, and the last of the Martins. It's up to your kids, grandkids, niece and nephew to carry on the name. We will never forget what you instilled in our lives, a God fearing life, and I know you are rejoicing in heaven with my Jesus, Bo, Pop, my Daddy and Uncle Sam. We will see you soon. I love you so much.

Shane, I was so sorry to learn about your Dad, James, passing away. He was such a good man who served his community well. I remember how proud he was when you won the football recognition and it was in The Atkins Chronicle. Please convey to your entire family my deepest sympathy. The good memories of him will help sustain his loved ones. He came to school and gave a program in the Library on Static Electricity.
RIP James Martin
