Obituary for James Lewis Garrison

James L. Garrison, 79 of Hector, went to his heavenly home surrounded by his loving family, Sunday, May 29, at St. Vincent in Little Rock. He was born August 29, 1942, in Ben Hur to the late Jim and Ethel Freeman Garrison.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 5 sisters; and 1 son, J.D. Garrison.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Ellen Garrison; 3 children, Regina (Robbie)Tramel, Joe D. (Laura) Garrison, Shonda (Mike) McCuin, and 1 daughter-in-law, Mitzi Garrison; 8 grandchildren, Shane (Heather) Hillis, Morgan (Ryan) Belcher, Hanna (Dakota) Mott, Meggan Harris, Gauge (Autumn) Garrison, Grayson McCuin, Madison Garrison and Gunner Garrison; 8 great-grandchildren and one on the way; brother, Charlie (Shirley) Garrison; brother-in-law, John D. (Stephanie) Thompson; sister-in-law, Patricia (Sammy) Hale, Jimmie (Mike) Amoa, and Sylvia (Mark) Wilson; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, June 2, at Lemley Chapel.

Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, June 3, at Lemley Chapel with Rev. Terry Latham officiating. Burial will be in Moore Cemetery in Ben Hur under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins.

Pallbearers are Grandchildren.

Honorary Pallbearers are Charlie “Bud” Garrison, Robbie Tramel, Mike McCuin, John D. Thompson, James Housley, and the Hector Volunteer Fire Department.
