Obituary for Inez M. Young
Inez Young, age 93, died January 10, 2023. She was born July 11, 1929, to the late Earl and Ann (Leggett) Murdoch and raised on the family farm north of Atkins.
Inez graduated from Atkins High School and Arkansas Polytechnic College, now Arkansas Tech University, where she met and married Howard Samuel Young. They celebrated 67 years of life together until his death in 2019.
They were blessed with five children. Their son, Howard Scott, preceded them in death. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Edna Moos.
She is survived by their four daughters, Ann Edwards and husband, David of Fort Smith, Susan Bradberry and husband, Bobby of Stuttgart, Melissa Clark and husband, Gary of Ohio, Sammye Quattlebaum and husband, Storm of Russellville. She is also survived by one grandson, Tyler and eight granddaughters, Leah England, Julie Edwards, Elizabeth Alvarenga, Sarah Heird, Elyse Quattlebaum, Lauren, Maddie, and Emily Clark. Great grandchildren, Thomas and Jane England, William and Wesley Alvarenga, Tucker Heird. Inez is also survived by her beloved brother, Charles Murdoch.
Inez was a faithful member of Hopewell Baptist Church and the Economy Extension Homemaker Club. She was a helper and encourager to many and gave unconditional love to her family and friends.
A private graveside service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oakland Cemetery, P.O Box 440 Atkins, AR 72823 or to the Arkansas Sheriff Youth Ranch P.O. Box 3964, Batesville, AR 72503.
