Obituary for Glenn "Scrappy" Dunning

Glenn “Scrappy” Dunning, 65, of Russellville, passed away Friday, December 28, 2018, at his home. He was born December 27, 1953, in Long Beach, California, son of Bobby and Tacy Rose Dunning. He was an influential member of the softball community and enjoyed playing and umpiring the game he loved.
He was preceded in death by his father; 3 brothers, Bobby, Chad, and Leonard; and a brother-in-law, Howard.
He is survived by his mother; 3 sisters, Gwen, Lenny and Denise; significant other, Arlene Davis; past-wife and friend, Helen Ringer; 2 sons, Christopher Dunning and wife Stephanie, and Michael Morrison; 2 daughters, Stephanie Cortez and husband Leo, and Angela Gray and husband Eric; 2 step-daughters, Renah Brown and husband Bob, and Sherri Chronister; brothers-in-law, George Ringer, Howard Ringer and Melvin Ringer; sister-in-law, Nora Earnest; 15 grandchildren; 1 great-granchild; and 3 dogs, Smokey, P.R. and Jane.
Funeral services are 2:00 PM, Friday, January 4, 2019, at Lemley Chapel. Burial will be in Ringer Cemetery in Centerville under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services.
Pallbearers are David Klein, Benson Wells, Eric Ringer, William West, Randy Hendricks, and Donald Earnest. Honorary pallbearers are all his fellow ballplayers. Honorary umpire is Robert Woods.
