Obituary for Gerald Fischer
Gerald Fischer, 68, of Dover, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at his home. He was born July 11, 1953, in Addison, Illinois, son of the late Edmund and Elizabeth “Betty” Piercefield Fischer. He was a United States Navy veteran and a loving father and grandfather who loved his dogs and loved to fish.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Deborah Lee Fischer and Beth Fischer; brother, Donald Fischer; and son-in-law, Jim Rust.
He is survived by his children, Colleen and husband Rob Miller, Gerald Fischer, Jr., Tina Fischer, Becky Rust, Sarah Fischer and Zack, Chris Bennett; 14 grandchildren (“nut-butts”); 2 great-granddaughters; and other family and friends.
Graveside service and burial is 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 26, at McFadden Cemetery under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation is from 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday, at Lemley’s.
