Obituary for Elmer E. "Bud" Johnson

Elmer E. "Bud"  Johnson
Elmer “Bud” E. Johnson, 82, of Atkins, formally of 2475 SR 326 of Russellville, died August 24, 2015, at St. Vincents Infirmary in Little Rock. He was born July 2, 1933, on Crow Mountain and was the son of the late David Albert and Georgia Mae Hutson Johnson. He was a family man as well as a military man. He was a retired Sergeant E7 with the United States Army, and served 20 years of active duty with multiple combat tours. He was a member of the Atkins Church of the Assumption and former member of the Atkins Riding club and Atkins Band Boosters.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Johanna Dorthy Johnson; three sisters, Lydia Sue Bratton, Georgia Mae Trumpfeller, Alice Bratton; a step-daughter, Carlene Ewing and a granddaughter, Heather Huffman.
He is survived by his children, Eulene and Rick Dugger of Edmond, OK, Mary Beth and Rusty Sipes of Texas, Judith Burris Mueller & husband Jason, Elmer E. Johnson, Jr. and wife, Toni, Johanna R. Huffman and husband, James; grandchildren, Danielle, Blake, Jessica, Benjamin, Matthew, Amanda, Trey, Courtney, Nathan, Dalton, Cheyenne, Hunter, Hanna, Heath; step-children, JoAnn and Al Spence, Louis and Ann Schmoll, Bernadine Mitchell and John and Cathy Schmoll; step-grandchildren, Erica, Barrett, Deidre, Doug, Robbie, Melanie, Richie, Marlena, Duncan, Brandi, Bradick, Shaun; twenty six great-grandchildren twenty six great-great-grandchildren and three sisters, Margie Norris, Elizabeth Hamblin and Thelma Lawhorn.
Funeral services are 10:00 AM, Friday, August 28, at the Atkins Church of the Assumption with Father Earnest Hardesty officiating. Burial is in Atkins Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Rosary is at 6:30 PM, Thursday, at Lemley Chapel with visitation to follow.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
