Obituary for Eddy Arnold

Edward “Eddy” Eugene Arnold, Jr., 52, of Atkins, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2019, at his home. He was born April 7, 1967, in Minden, Louisiana. Eddy loved God, his family, and the outdoors. He is lovingly known by his Louisiana friends and family as “Sparkie.” His Grandfather Royce Sanders gave him that name when he was born because his eyes sparkled. Eddy loved his family with all his heart and loved spending time with them. He had a passion for fishing and hunting, always searching for his next trophy. His favorite place to fish was at Lake Atkins where he met so many of his good friends and would share with them the best fishing spots as well as the occasional “Fish Story!” He spent most of his day taking care of his garden, turkeys and chickens. He had a generous heart and would give any stranger the shirt off his back. Eddy enjoyed life to the fullest and tried to share his passions and love for God with everyone he met. He is loved greatly and will truly be missed by his family and friends. He was a member of Atkins Free Will Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mae King Sanders.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 18 years, Melinda “Mindy” Arnold; 8 children, Angel Arnold, Joshua Arnold, Dakota Arnold, Stormie Arnold Collie, Kimberly Martens Cervantes, Lindsey Arnold, Amber Johnston, and Tyler Johnston; siblings, Freddy Arnold and wife Tara, Kevin Arnold and wife Kim, and Elizabeth Arnold Taylor; 17 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside service and burial is 2:00 PM, Thursday, July 25, at Oakland Cemetery with Rev. Johnny McCoy officiating under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at Lemley Funeral.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his honor be made to the Eddy Arnold Funeral Expense Fund, c/o Lemley Funeral Service, P.O. Box 126, Atkins, AR, 72823.
Forever in our hearts. Forever remembered..
