Obituary for Doyle Edward "Butch" Taylor

Doyle “Butch” Taylor, 54 of Fayetteville, left this life suddenly Friday, January 27, 2023, at his home. He was born February 14, 1968, to Jessie and Linda Palmer Taylor.

"Butch” was a valued employee of the University of Arkansas Razorback transit for many years. Butch was an accomplished musician. He played bass guitar for many local bands over the years.
His band, The Shackrats moved from Pope County to Fayetteville in the late 90's. They would play all over the region and had many faithful fans. The band won several NAMA awards over their years together.

Butch was a frequent guest host of the Plastic Magic radio show for many years as well. Butch would get to travel all over the east coast and all over Europe playing bass with the legendary Sleepy LaBeef in the early 2000's. Butch loved his time overseas. He would go on to be a member of the Pope County Bootleggers. They were invited to play the SXSW music festival in Austin. Butch was wise beyond his years and always a curious learner. He was incredibly smart and well read. His knowledge was ever broad. From ancient history to the cosmos and everything in between. Butch was a big guy with a
big heart and an even bigger smile. He has left a huge impact on all he has met along the way. His family, friends, bandmates and coworkers will all miss him dearly.
