Obituary for Doyle Burgess Foshee

Doyle Burgess Foshee, 82 of Atkins, passed away Wednesday, July 13, at Conway Regional Medical Center in Conway. He was born September 8, 1939, in Morrilton son of the late Doc Burgess and Ruby Hazel McCommons Foshee.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lester “Shorty” Foshee; and one son, Gerald Foshee.

He is survived by the love of his life, Betty Boren Foshee his wife of 61 years; son, Dale Foshee (Karla); daughters, Sue Gardner and Lori Smith (Bill); grandchildren, Zachary B. Foshee, Aaron Gardner, Lacie Foshee, April Gardner, Brandy Blalack, Zachary Kilburn and Hazel Smith; great-grandchildren, Jayna Blalack, Jaxon Blalack, Jayde Blalack, Blaze McKay, Ryder McKay and Rylie Henke.

He spent his days building a life and family with Betty. He was a farmer for over 65 years and retired at the age of 80. He loved bird hunting, fishing, and spending his Saturday nights tearing up the dance floor with his beloved Betty. He also loved gathering with his family watching his rodeos and game shows on tv and doing crossword puzzles. He could sit and reminisce for hours telling story after story about anybody and anything you wanted to talk about. He loved deeply and was deeply loved by everyone that had the honor of knowing him. He will forever be missed.

Celebration of Life and Visitation will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, July 17, at Lemley Chapel. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins.
