Doris Trotter, 70, of Atkins, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 8, 2018, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Russellville. She was born December 30, 1947, in Shreveport, Louisiana, daughter of the late Henry Hughes and Ozella Poindexter. She received the Holy Ghost and was baptized in Jesus’ name when she was 11 years old. She rededicated her life in 2009.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Susie Hughes; and her brother, Lawrence Bodin.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond Trotter; daughter, Kimberly and husband Charles Carter; 2 brothers, Troy Hughes and Clarence Bodin; sisters, Mary Fergeison, Jean Broussard, and Patsy Smith; grandchildren, Amanda Carter and Abigail Carter; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services are 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 12, at Atkins First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Brian Ryals officiating. Burial is in Atkins City Cemetery under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.
Pallbearers are Brandon Smith, Matthew Smith, John D. Pruitt, John R. Pruitt, Tommy Smith, and Alva Brantley.
