Obituary for Charles Bewley

Charles Jackson Bewley, 88, of Atkins, passed away Friday, July 12, 2019, at his home. He was born March 30, 1931, in Hattieville, son of the late Thirstle and Mayme Duvall Bewley. He was a lifelong resident of Atkins and member of Happy Valley Assembly of God Church. He retired from Arkla/Centerpoint and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He loved his family and the life he lived on the farm.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Bobby Taylor; and 3 brothers, Jerry Bewley, Bobby Bewley, and Thirstle Bewley, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Taylor Bewley; daughters, Debbie and husband Robert Norman, and Annette Bewley; sister, Doris Bewley Peugh; grandson, Andrew Norman; 3 granddaughters, Addy Elizabeth and husband Tyler Hough, Angela Reich, and Stephanie Mahon; 7 great-grandchildren, Hawkins Jack Hough, Callum Charles Hough; and several loving nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Funeral services are 3:00 PM, Monday, July 15, at Lemley Chapel with Rev. David Carpenter officiating. Private burial will be held in Shiloh Cemetery under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. The family will receive friends immediately following services.
