Carl Roland Reed passed peacefully at Atkins Nursing and Rehab. He was born to Pate Edward and Rissia Humphrey Reed on July 13, 1923, at Fort Smith while the family lived in Roland, OK, so they gave him the middle name Roland. He was the last survivor of their 10 children.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Horn Reed shortly after their 70th Wedding Anniversary, his two sons James Roland Reed and Michael Horn Reed, six brothers, Burl, Willie, Cecil, Jennings, James, Ralph and three sisters, Florence Woodward, Lois Burris, Virginia Morris, a daughter-in-law, Johnye Marshall Reed and Great Granddaughters Elizabeth Brownlee and Hannah Brownlee.
His family settled in Pope County during the 1920's to construct the Pope County Courthouse. Pate taught all his sons the Masonry Trade and were very well known around the state for their beautiful work in plastering and tile.
He served in the Navy during WWI I.
His favorite pastime was crappie fishing and camping with all his family.
He is survived by his daughter, Julia Reed Wiliker (Karl), daughter-in-law Dianne Keener Reed. Eight grandchildren,
