Carl McKinley came from a large family, 8 brothers, and 4 sisters for a total of 13, including himself. We called him Corky out of fondness. He was a very caring brother, son, husband, dad and so on. He worked hard in Oregon picking berries and was very fast at it. He met and married Mary and moved to Arkansas. He made trips back "home" to Oregon almost every year. He loved finding old friends and visiting, when he came home. He was from the Class of "65" Silverton Union High School. His surviving siblings include Vernon(Buz) and Pat from Scotts Mills, Oregon, Clif from Salem, Oregon. Ratie Abbott from AZ. Barbara Lara from Keizer, Oregon. Neava Jespersen from AZ. Frank from Oregon City, Oregon and Bill from Silverton, Oregon. He has close to 40 nieces and nephews in Oregon, and many cousins in MN. Bill remembers his humor, and the time when a girl cousin was visiting from MN. He grabbed her shoes, climbed a 60 plus foot fir tree and put them at the top of the tree, then climbed back down. He did go retrieve the shoes after a while.

Corky was a very special cousin. He was also named after my dad Carl Nelson who was a very caring and sentimental man. We didn't get to see him as often as we would have liked, but when he came to Minnesota it was always fun. RIP dear Corky!!!!
