Obituary for Bobbie Haney

Mrs. Bobbie Jean Williams Haney, 89, formerly of Atkins passed away October 29, 2020 at her home in Cabot, Arkansas. She was born September 2, 1931 at Hattieville, Arkansas and was the daughter of the late Reverend Carl and Arbella Massingill Williams.

Bobbie was a graduate of the former Arkansas State Teachers College (now UCA) in Conway. Upon graduation, she was hired as a home economics teacher at Atkins. During this time, she met the love of her life, Emmett and they were married for 51 years. After marrying, they moved to Alabama where she continued teaching home economics at Carroll High School in Ozark until the birth of Carla. They later moved to Clinton, Mississippi where Carroll was born. Upon moving back to Arkansas, she returned to teaching once her children were in school. She taught in various grades, mainly in sixth and second grade. She loved her family, friends, teaching, her students, singing and most of all her Savior Jesus Christ.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband and survived by two daughters and sons-in-law Carla and Stephen Ring of Cabot, Carroll and Tim Haney of Cabot; 5 grandchildren, Jacob Ring of Cabot, Daniel and wife Lauren Ring of Dickson, TN, Sarah and husband Tanner Nichols of Maumelle, Elizabeth Ring of Cabot, and Hannah Lee of Powhatan, VA, and 1 great-grandson David Ring of Dickson, TN.

Pallbearers (and honorary pallbearers) are: Jacob Ring, Daniel Ring, Tanner Nichols, Randy Haney, Robert Haney, David Haney, Donald Haney, Jimmy Horton, Bruce Haney, Mark Haney, Robert McCollum, Larry Templeton, David Free, Steve Pyle, Chris Taylor and Al Davidson.

Visitation will be at Atkins First Baptist Church on Friday November 6, 2020 at 1 pm with the funeral officiated by Ira Taylor following at 2 pm. Burial will be in Old Hickory Cemetery with arrangements by Lemley Funeral Service in Atkins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Atkins First Baptist Church, Arkansas Hospice, or to Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale.
