Billy Charles Haralson, Sr., 87, of Atkins, passed away Friday, January 31, 2020, at the Atkins Nursing and Care Center. He was born October 15, 1932, in Conway County, son of the late Clarence and Vera Abernathy Haralson. He was a member and deacon of the Union Grove Free Will Baptist Church for more than 52 years, and was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents; mom, Peggy Haralson; sons, James David Haralson and Tim Haralson; brother, C.H. Haralson; and sisters, Maxine, Melba, and Iva Ann.
He is survived by his wife, Ella Jane Haralson; son, Billy Charles Haralson and wife Charlotte, and daughter-in-law, Lyn Haralson; grandchildren, Kaci McVay and Billy, Christopher Haralson, Whitney Stubbs and Cody, Timothy Christy and Melissa, Jordan Haralson and Brenley, and Skyler Haralson; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 2:00 PM, Monday, February 3, at Union Grove Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. David Bishop and Rev. Scott Warren officiating. Burial is in Oakland Cemetery under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation is from 2:00-4:00 PM, Sunday, at Lemley Chapel.
Pallbearers are Shawn Rooke, Kevin Haralson, Jeff Small, Frank Southard, Dennis Boren and Jerry Graves. Honorary pallbearers are Bobby Higgins, Jeanette Small, Jackie Rooke, Ashton Dube, members of his Sunday School class and staff of Atkins Nursing Home.
