Bernell Evelyn Cross, 81, of Russellville, passed away Monday, November 16, 2020, at her home. She was born April 24, 1939, in Pope County, daughter of the late George W. and Vella K. Duvall Simmons. She was a member of the Pine Hill Community Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband Lewis Cross; 1 brother, George Simmons; and 2 sisters, Ollie Gene Lewallen, and Shirley Frazier.
She is survived by 2 brothers, George W. Simmons, Jr. and J.M. Simmons; 1 sister, Opal Hartwick; nephews, Johnny Molloy and Michael Molloy; niece Charity Molloy; and a number of other nieces and nephews.
Graveside service and burial is 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 18, at Shady Grove Cemetery,with Rev. C.W. Henderson and Rev. Terry Joe Simmons officiating under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins.
Pallbearers are nephews, Jessie Simmons, James Simmons, John Simmons, Joseph Simmons, Michael Molloy, Bob Frazier.
