Obituary for Beatrice Smith

Beatrice  Smith
Beatrice Smith, 98, of Atkins, passed away Friday, January 3, 2014, at Atkins Care Center. She was born November 25, 1915, in Van Buren County, the daughter of William Otto and Abby Bolton Powers. She enjoyed quilting and fishing and was a member of the Kenwood Free Will Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rev. Loy Smith; 3 brothers, Ernest Powers, Jack Powers and Archie Powers; and 3 sisters, Viola Isom, Creacie Powers and Floy Powers.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Bermell Powers; nieces, Jackie Duvall and Karen Duvall; nephew, Allen Powers; 10 great-nieces and nephews, and 5 great-great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, January 8, at Lemley Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Lee Chronister officiating. Family will receive friends immediately following the service. Private burial is in Mt. Zion Cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins.
Memorials in her honor may be made to Arkansas Hospice, 2405 E. Parkway Dr., Russellville, AR 72802.
