Arene Smith, 75, of Atkins, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2019, at home surrounded by her family. She was born June 12, 1943, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, daughter of the late Lander Arlington and Ruby Vernon Britton Minyard.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cad Rice; and a brother, Kenneth Eugene Minyard.
She is survived by a son, Ryan Rice and wife Nancy; daughter, Trina and husband David Tillman; granddaughters, Brandi Tillman and Brooke Tillman; great-grandchildren, Natalie Jones, Bentley Tillman, Skylar Jones, Tyler Jones, and Remington Newby; 2 brothers, Roger Minyard and wife Linda, and Rudy Minyard and wife Nona; 3 sisters, Ione and husband Jimmie Johnson, Sharon and husband Harold Dixon, and Charlotte and husband Jerry Hudlow; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Graveside service and burial is 2:00 PM, Monday, April 22, at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Roland with Bro. Johnny McCoy officiating with arrangements under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins.
Honorary pallbearers are Roger Minyard, Rudy Minyard, Jimmie Johnson, Jerry Hudlow, and Jason DeLancey.
