Alma Louise Thompson Stroud, 92, of Jerusalem, passed away September 11, 2022. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
As a young mother, she embarked upon a career in education. She projected love and kindness in her teaching, and her reward was the same, returned. She always kept strong convictions about her purpose and carried them throughout her career.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents Ira and Iva Thomas; her husband, Ibrie Jeno Thompson; 4 brothers, Ira Thomas, Jr. (Pauline Thomas), Billy Ray Thomas (Edna Mae Thomas Whittenburg), Louis Thomas (Mary Anna Thomas), and Carlton Thomas (Kay Louise Thomas); 2 grandsons, Christopher Steven Thompson, and Matthew Brannon Thompson; and second husband, Amos Price Stroud.
She is survived by 2 sons, Ibrie Stephen Thompson (Taresa Thompson) and Bradley Michael Thompson (Cindy Thompson); daughter, Lynneah Dianne Thompson Fryer; 4 grandchildren, Angela Bull, Lori Harrell (Keith Harrell), Lanie Jorgenson (Josh Jorgenson), and Mary Barber (Daniel Barber); 10 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside service and burial is 10:30 AM, Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at Cedar Creek Cemetery with Bro. Scott Roderick officiating under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins.
