Obituary for Adolph Vodrazka

Adolph “Mr. Vod” Vodrazka, 92, of Pottsville, passed away Friday, March 20, 2020, at the Dardanelle Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born June 28, 1927, in Dardanelle, son of the late Adolph, Sr. and Bessie Pfeifer Vodrazka. He was a veteran of World War 2, graduate of the University of Arkansas, and taught Vocational Agriculture at Pottsville Schools for 34 years. He enjoyed raising cattle and being on the farm. He was a member of the Pottsville United Methodist Church, the Pope County Cattleman’s Association, a retired volunteer firefighter, served on the Pottsville City Council, and was a member of the Pottsville Masonic Lodge #333 for 67 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 66 years, Josephine Vodrazka; infant son, Randolph Vodrazka; brother, Frank Max Vodrazka; and son-in-law, Larry Harris.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Debby Harris of Russellville, and Jana Lawhorn (Vernon) of Pottsville; grandchildren, Amanda Ivey (Jim McCoy) of Ohio, and Kenneth Lee Lawhorn of Pottsville; great-grandson, Zander Ivey of Ohio; sister, Agnes Alford; several nieces, nephews, other family and friends; and a host of former students.
Private burial with Masonic rites by Pottsville Lodge #333 will be held in Oakland Cemetery north of Atkins with Rev. David Downum officiating. Services are under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Public visitation and memorial services will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in his honor may be made to the Oakland Cemetery, P.O. Box 440, Atkins, AR 72823.
