John Winston Young, 69, of Atkins, died Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at River Valley Medical Center in Dardanelle. He was born in Russellville August 10, 1941, the son of the late Elmer Young and Zell Shockley. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Young, and was a member of the Bells Chapel Assembly of God Church.

He is survived by three sons, John Snyder and Jimmy Snyder, both of Arizona, and Chris Young of Arkansas; four brothers, Robert H. Young, Richard H. Young, Ennis Young and Tony Young, all of California; and three sisters, Judy Winfrey and Connie Gray of California, and Kay Leonard of Searcy, Arkansas.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, November 15, at Lemley Funeral Chapel with Rev. Chad Duvall officiating. Private burial will be at Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation is open.
