Obituary for James Scott

James  Scott
James Scott, 80, of Russellville, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at his home. He was born August 16, 1936, in Hector, son of the late Claude and Selma Derryberry Scott. He loved his grandkids and going fishing, enjoyed feeding squirrels and birds, and took great pride in his yard work.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Richard Dale Scott; 3 sisters, Jeanie, Betty, and Golda Mae; and a brother, Lewis.
He is survived by his wife of 59 and a half years, Earlene Shirley Scott; 3 sons, James Scott and wife Mary Ann, Michael Scott and wife Lyndia, and Robert Scott and wife Dycie; daughter, Deborah and husband Rex Surrette; 2 sisters, Gail Martin (D.L.) and Shirley Virden; 2 brothers, Rickey Scott (Sissy) and Russell Scott (Sandy); and a whole slew of grandkids and great-grandkids.
Graveside service and burial is 1:00 PM, Friday, February 3 in Ball Hall Cemetery with Glenn Schumacher officiating under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation is from 6:00-8:00 PM, Thursday, at Lemley Chapel.
Pallbearers are Richard Surrette, Sam Scott, Randy Scott, Michael Scott, Antonio Gomez, Randy Hopeson, Nick Parker, Zachary Scott, Logan Newman, Tanner Newman, and Aaryan Gahlot.
