Obituary for Billy Vance Roberts

Billy Vance  Roberts
Billy Vance Roberts, 81, of Atkins, passed away Wednesay, July 3, 2013, in Yuma, Arizona. He was born November 17, 1931, in Pope County, the son of Hogan and Dessie Mae Duvall Roberts. He was a retired farmer and faithfully attended Mt. Vernon Free Will Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jean Byrum Roberts; daughter, Carolyn Posthumus; brother, J.L. Roberts; three sisters, Kathleen May, Ima Jean Ennis and Pauline Reed; and step-mother, Gertie Roberts.
He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Hogan Roberts and “Buddy” and wife Bobbi Roberts; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; step-sister, Yvonne Burris; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Friday, July 12, at Lemley Chapel with Rev. Jamie Burris and Rev. Darwin Barnhouse officiating. Burial is in Shady Grove Cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation is from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday.
Pallbearers are Sam Reed, Paul May, Jackie Chronister, James Ray Roberts, Rickey Fuller, Darrell Burris, Jim Rye and Ron Baker. Honorary pallbearers are his McDonald’s coffee drinking buddies.
