Ricky Isom, Sr., 63, of Fort Smith, died March 1, 2011, at his home. He was born May 31, 1947 in Hornersville, Missouri, the son of Hoyd and Nellie Sullins Isom. He was a Vietnam Veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Linda; and six brothers, Randolph “Doc” Isom, Roy Isom, Jesse Isom, J.R. Isom, Dub Isom and Wayne Isom.

He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Ricky and Melanie Isom of Alma, Jack and Audra Isom of Fort Smith, and Scott and Chanthany Hitt of Fort Smith; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tina and Keith Byrum of Pottsville, and Malinda and Nathan James of Fort Smith; a brother, Randal Isom of Atkins; two sisters, Ann Malone of Senath, Missouri and Shirley Johnson of Allegan, Michigan; and seven grandchildren, Brandon, Tyler and Emily Isom of Alma, Grant and Dalton Isom of Fort Smith, Zachary Byrum of Pottsville and Melody Hitt of Fort Smith.

Funeral services are 2:30 PM, Saturday, March 5, 2011, at Lemley Chapel with the Rev. Donald Matchett officiating. Burial is in Oakland Cemetery by Lemley Funeral of Atkins. Visitation is Friday from 6:00-8:00 PM.

Pallbearers are Keith Byrum, Nathan James, Steve Isom, Kenny Parrish, Larry Hitt and Chris Edwards. Honorary pallbearers are his grandchildren.
