Bobby “Bob” Gene Dickens, 76, of Atkins, died Saturday, March 5, 2011 at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center. He was born in Windham, Texas on October 10, 1934, the son of William Eugene and Iva Star Dickens. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Geraldine Dickens of Atkins; a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda Lee “Dickens” Peterson and husband Scott of Atkins; a son, Bobby Lee Dickens of California; and six grandchildren, John Wesley Dickens, Bobby Dickens, Jr., Amber Dickens, Madison Dickens, Stacy Lynn Dickens Carns, and Angel Peterson Pawley and husband Jared.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 12, 2011 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Lemley Funeral Chapel. A memorial service will be held in California at a later date.
