Obituary for Paul Lee Burnett

Paul Lee  Burnett
Paul Lee Burnett, beloved father, brother, and grandfather, 76, of Atkins, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2013, at his home. He was born January 4, 1937, in Atkins, son of the late Durard and Vida Pearl Hurst Burnett. He was a 1954 graduate of Atkins High School and attended Arkansas Tech University on a football scholarship. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1957 and served until 1965 when he was honorably discharged. He was a field office manager for several construction companies.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and husband Robert Smith of Atkins; 3 grandchildren, Kelsie Duvall, Karie Casto and Caleb Casto; 1 great-granddaughter, Emory Dawn Fike; three brothers, Pat Burnett and wife Delois of Atkins, Bill Burnett of Jonesboro, and John Burnett and wife Lana of Atkins; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved pet, Oscar.
Memorial services are 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 21, at Lemley Chapel with Rev. David Bishop officiating. Visitation will be held an hour prior to services.
