Shirlene Eakes Alexander, 83, of Atkins, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 19, 2018, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Russellville. She was born September 9, 1935, in Atkins, daughter of the late Wilburn Lee and Elma Sue Stubbs Eakes. She was a faithful member of Atkins First Baptist Church for more than 55 years, and was a loving wife and mother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Sue Bowden; and grandparents, Carl Stubbs and wife Dora.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, James Alexander; son, Dr. James Lee Alexander; daughter, Karen Alexander; 3 grandsons, Scott Alexander and wife Brandy, Matthew Alexander (Elizabeth Blackburn), Jacob Alexander; 2 granddaughters, Riley Alexander, and Kelly and husband Jordan Witkofsky; and 3 great-grandchildren, Abbie Alexander, James Alexander, and Tessa Alexander.
Funeral services are 2:00 PM, Friday, November 23, at Atkins First Baptist Church with Bro. Zach Phillips and Bro. Ferrel Duffel officiating. Burial is in Atkins City Cemetery under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation is one hour prior to services at the church.
Pallbearers are Scott Alexander, Matthew Alexander, Jacob Alexander, Jordan Witkofsky, Mike Bowden, and Daniel Bowden.
